Common issues and solutions
Update to latest Adobe applications
Motion (M⁴) is compatible with any workstation with hardware that can run Adobe After Effects CC 2020, 2021, 2022 or later. If you are running an older version of After Effects, please update the program.
Adobe 2024 Update
If you've recently updated to AE 2024 and are experiencing issues, you can try the following:
First, make sure to use our .exe or .pkg installer. This will ensure that old extension versions are properly cleaned up.
If on Windows, and the Motion 4 panel is not displaying, try running After Effects as an Admin by right-clicking the app, and choosing "Run as Administrator". You should only have to do this once.
If you're still experiencing issues, you can try a ZXP installer. We recommend https://install.anastasiy.com/, as it has full support for Adobe 2024 applications. Other ZXP installers do not support 2024 as of this writing.
Update to the latest Motion package
Most issues are solved with a fresh install, and / or removing the configuration data. Before diving into a manual installation — please download and install the latest version of Motion from the Downloads
